'Luuku' chair20. Sep2011

Designed within The Wood Program within the Department of Architecture of the School of Engineering from Aalto University, 'Luuku' chair is an ode to the wood elasticity.

The chair design highlights the elastic nature of the ash. The seat surfaces are formed chipwood and have a violin-shaped hole in both ends. Seat and backrest is formed from flexible thin slats of only 3-4 mm which provides confort to a person, a soft sitting in a hard material.

Luuku chair is one of the 11 prototypes designed by 13 designers working in Finland and is currently showed in the Protoshop exposition organized within Habitare - furniture interior decoration design held in Helsinki between 14-18 October.
