'Ushanki' shelf-lamps09. Oct2011
Ushanki is a hybrid furniture, a combination between a shelf and a lamp, both hosted in a form which is derived from the earflaps of the shapka-ushanka, which was once the national cap of Ukraine.
The 'Ushanki' shelf-lamps were submitted for the "DIY" feature hosted by Designboom.

It is available in three sizes appropriately named shelf-dad, shelf-mom, and shelf-son, all shaped in a fluid and curvaceous shape and colored in blue.
The lamp is hidden inside the upper part of the MDF wood structure, casting the light onto the shelf underneath.
Ushanki shelf-lamp can also be used as a bedside table or a bookshelf.
