Cluster School Building03. May2011
Josephine Baker School is a project completed in 2010 in La Courneuve, France. Speaking in terms of shapes and forms, the school is more like a "group of schools", as seen from outside. As the architects said in their presentation, the architecture and the morphology of the buildings are the echo of the urban lines existing in the urban plan for this site.

Entrance to the school area is dominated by a large overhanging volume which creates the image of a public building and in the same time comfortably inviting the people inside.
Although it looks like a cluster of buildings arranged around a courtyard, there is a 360 degree ramp which holds and connects together all school volumes.

Sports areas are also located on the rooftop.
