FRABJOUS puzzle/sculpture02. Mar2012

TAGS: acrylic, puzzle, sculpture
Designed by George Hart

Frabjous is the first of a new kind of puzzle, based on an original sculpture by mathematician George Hart.

It is an ingenious deconstruction of a Great Rhombic Triacontahedron. 30 Identical pieces assemble into the complex, but perfectly regular form. The sinuous forms weave around and through one another creating an elegant structure where no piece touches any other except at the corners.

The pieces are from acrylit radiant acryl modeled by laser cutting. The puzzle was created for MoMath (Museum of Mathematics)
