Putting together the wood parts that will create the bookshelves in the end is based on an ancestral assembly thechnique called "mid-wood". Mid-wood refers to a piece of wood that entangles two other pieces of wood which are partially cut half of the way. By linking the two parts it assures the continuity of the two parts.
The construction of a Mi-Bois bookshelf is an honor to simplicity. Additionaly, it creates a strong and vibrant structure bringing beauty in any empty room. Shelves can be moved easily so the bookshelf can be transformed according to the desires.
---Each wood element of the book shelf is composed of 13 layers of birch wood cross-laid which makes the shelves very resistant.
---The shelves are treated on the edges (where the birch layer are visible) with natural oil and a matt white melamine coating covers all other surfaces. The shelves comes with a built-in feet feature which allow fine adjustment for leveling.
---In 2007 by Jules Desarzens opened Wood Concept in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Wood Concept is a cabinetmaker workshop which exploits the multiple possibilities of the creations offered by the wood.
