The space was built in anticipation of the 2012 London Olympics now passed as a host for tourists and residents of Greenwich arriving at the Olympic Village. Made in just sixteen days by a team led by Danny Elphick using recycled material, the design of the Movement Café was inspired by the poet Lemn Sissay Olympic official, who wrote a poem about Greenwich which was then painted on the outside walls of the structure: geometric designs in bright colors covering the walls of the café to attract the attention of passers-by. ---
The interior has been edited by Luke Morgan Supergroup, which created bespoke furniture and cushions for the seating area using materials recycled from kites. The MVMNT Café is run by local non-profit organization Greenwich Co-Operative Development Agency which still serves customers with products from organic and fair trade food items of local origin: the profits will go to help disadvantaged communities across London. The MVMNT Temporary Café will be open to the public until December 2012.---
