Paper Tube chair / Interlux chair21. Jul2011
Using already existing objects from the market to create new objects with new functionality is always a strong sign of creativity but also of sustainability. Especially when the materials used in the process are environmental friendly.
The Paper Tube chair is a good example of this. It can be made by anyone of us, in any size and any number.
"Enjoy the environment friendly paper chair that is made from your recycled newspapers. The cardboard chairs were made in 2002 and since then they have been used in Artpark and for various events. The attached photo is a recent one. The paper chair has retained the same good condition since its production. The armchairs are made from used cardboard tubes. The tubes are made from recycled paper." - Manfred Kielnhofer

Using the same idea of assembled tubes, Interlux chair can be seen as a upgrade of the Paper Tube chair. Made of plexiglas and neon light this chair is really alive!. "Light art object or cosy sedan chair? Get two features in one. Once put in the lobby, in the hall or in your shop – the interlux (or plexi-tube) chair will be the perfect eye catcher. You can also change the light tubes easily – so you can change the colors and enjoy different atmospheres. Try a fresh green in spring, a warm orange in autumn and a golden shine at Christmas!" - Manfred Kielnhofer
By changing the color of the neon tubes the mood is changing.
