Spatial Tape Compositions20. Sep2012

Brooklyn-based artist Aakash Nihalani uses fluorescent tape to create basic geometric shapes that act as pieces of art in the plain air or in the interiors spaces.

The interventions happens without altering the surrounding environment nor the support. The playfulness of the concepts and the resulted works let people to interact with the graphics

As it plays with depth and perspective. some interventions suggest what could be there, temporarily transforming
everyday urban streets into a playground. Portions from the city that blend in and typically go unnoticed now become highlighted, capture and introduce the people to their surroundings.

Starting with this everyday medium about a year ago, Aakash has been decorating the inner and outer city landscapes—mostly in New York and New Delhi—with cutting 3-D geometric installations.
