DDJ's main objective is to present design ideas that improve our everyday lives, created by young and upcoming designers as well as already established designers and architects from around the world.
Design ideas featured on DDJ range from furniture, objects and graphic design to interiors, buildings, urban and landscape design.
DDJ will also keep you up to date with events, trends and festivals whenever and wherever possible.
Most of the written content on DDJ website is original and created by DDJ editors. Where this is not the case, a reference back to the original will be provided.
In addition to being a showcase for world design, DDJ is also aiming to start, contribute to, and support the contemporary design scene in Romania.
Romanian design is still in its incipient phases of development, after the tremendous social, political and cultural changes that came with the fall of communism.
We acknowledge that our Eastern European neighbours, who underwent through similar changes, are well ahead of us in what design is concerned. DDJ is hoping to contribute to bridging this gap.
Romania needs a strong design community and to discover and nurture young or new talent in order to be a contender on the world’s design map.
At DDJ, we are determined to generate and support creative initiatives and ideas from designers and people interested in design, to stimulate an emergent cultural area of design, and to attract those outside of the field to the wonderful world of design.
We believe that Romania has a strong emerging market for furniture and design objects. It is our hope that this market will further develop and it will create a healthy environment for designers to promote and sell their works.
Any contribution or feedback is more than welcome.
